Bar Mitzva At 58

Dear Rabbi

I am an inmate at five points c.f. my name is ******** and my Jewish name is ********my Rabbi is *******and he is here for one day a week and that is only for one hour.

My problem is that I never learned about being Jewish till a few years ago, my mother was Jewish and my father is not but I don’t know him at all. My sister is 10 years older then me and fully Jewish. I got bar mitzva just last month and I had to do it in English.

What I really need help with is someone that can come see me on a visit and help to teach me what it is to be Jewish. I only have one person left in my life and that is my sister and I will never see the outside again as I am 58 years old and my first parole board is in 2045. My sister is 68 years old and retired and it is very hard for her to visit me as I have only seen her 2 times in the past 12 years as the trip is to long and to hard and just the cost to much for her being retired.

I feel very alone at times and lost I need to get closer to our G-D and I just can’t do it on my own. I am not to ask for anything but help to be a better Jew and know my G-D and be closer to him and when the day comes that I am no longer here our G-D will not pass over me when he comes to bring his people home.

Any help you can give me would be of great help.

You may call my sister Glenda at ********** or write to ******** to find out any information you need on me, and my sister’s husband is also Jewish and can tell you about me also.

Thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

Thank you
